Ready to Run by Kelly Starett  (also authored the great book Becoming a Supple Leopard)

These books emphasize the importance of flexibility and strength which is crucial to injury prevention. Dr. Starrett discusses training techniques needed to improve function and flexibility, focusing on weak areas, rehabilitating injuries and basically improving our overall physical health to perform the best way you can for your sports or daily activities. The book Ready to Run is geared for the for the world class athlete who has excellent biomechanics.  But many of the exercises can be used by any one...professional athlete, amateur or for many of our patients who have mechanical problems such as plantar fasciitis, tendon overuse injuries, achilles tendonitis and abnormal pronation....just to name a few.
Dr. Starett believes that you can treat anyone through exercise.  He is a PhD in physical therapy.  Many structural deformities require more than flexibility and training, whether it is functional custom orthoses or structural intervention.  His book does not address these problems nor is it designed to do so.  It is still a very interesting read.  Many of the exercises discussed are detailed with photos throughout the book and mostly at the end of the book.
